09.26.07 Johnny Appleseed Day -- Delicious Day
As the warm air begins to disappear, fall begins to settle in. Apples and Pumpkins fill the farms and many return to their homes to create apple pie, apple cider, caramel apples, and many more delectable treats. September 26, of course, is Johnny Appleseed Day. We've all heard the stories.
Johnny Appleseed Day celebrates John Chapman, aka Johnny Appleseed. He was born in 1774 and died in 1845. His gift to the world was good nature and his love for his lord. Johnny Appleseed is known for bringing his apples across the country to Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. He spent his life dedicated to nurseryman and being a missionary for the Church of the New Jerusalem. Aside from his love of nurseryman, he also showed a deep affection towards animals. He was what the modern day PETA would be today.
Today is a day of celebration. Take some time out today to eat healthy and enjoy natures candy, the apple. Apple cider is always a delectable treat for the night!
